Blaire Cross first went vegan for the animals. She didn’t expect it to influence her mood, her energy levels—or her hormones.
“In my late twenties, I started getting irregular cycles, random fatigue, and breakouts,” Blaire says.
“I thought it was stress or my schedule. But my doctor suggested I look into how food could help support hormonal balance.”
So, Blaire turned to her diet—not to restrict it, but to rebalance it. She didn’t want extreme supplements or rigid plans.
She wanted real food, plant-based, and nourishing. Quest Nutrition Ultimate Variety Pack Protein Bars, High Protein, Low Carb, Gluten Free, Keto Friendly, 12 Count
She began with the basics: fiber-rich whole grains, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, legumes, and omega-3-rich sources like flax and chia. “I started eating with intention,” she says. “Not just calories—but how foods made me feel.”
One unexpected win? Adding more healthy fats. Avocados, tahini, and walnuts became staples, helping stabilize her energy throughout the day.
And cutting back on processed vegan snacks—bars, mock meats, and sugary cereals—seemed to ease the brain fog she didn’t realize she was living with.
Over the months, her cycle became more regular. Her skin cleared. She felt emotionally steadier. “It wasn’t overnight,” Blaire emphasizes. “But once I gave my body the nutrients it needed, everything felt smoother.”
Now, Blaire shares her story to encourage others to listen to their bodies. “Veganism can be powerful,” she says, “but it has to be done with care.”
