Mila Cooper’s Vegan Meals for Better Digestion

For years Mila Cooper had thought of herself as really healthy. She aimed for a balanced diet, drank lots of water, and worked out often.

She often felt bloated, uncomfortable, and unclear of what was causing the pain even with those excellent habits throughout after meals.

Things did not start to alter until she switched to a plant-based diet. She notes, “I was just trying to feel better; I didn’t go vegan for ethical reasons at first.” Unquestionably, though, the effect was significant.

A few weeks later, Mila found her digestion had greatly changed. Once left heavy and exhausted, meals now left her light and satiated. “My stomach wasn’t fighting with me anymore,” she says.

She credits the inherent power of entire, plant-based diets for this metamorphosis instead of any mystical potion.

Her body had less to fight against once processed goods and animal products were removed. Meals heavy in fiber became the standard, and her stomach reacted in line.

Of course, the transition presented difficulties as well. She had to pick up fresh recipes, play about with ingredients, and respond to many of family and friend inquiries.

Still, it became second nature with time. “I discovered foods like roasted vegetable bowls or lentil stew that I really desired. It did not seem like I was missing anything.

Mila is still totally vegan now and enjoying it. She explains, “I used to consider food as something I had to manage.” It seems like it supports me now.

Her experience shows that occasionally the solution is not additional medicine or more guidelines. Sometimes your body is just what it has been silently requesting all along.
