“Meditation has changed my life totally,” Lara explains. “It helps me focus, lowers stress, and generates a peace I hadn’t felt before.”

Every morning Lara starts with a 10-minute meditation session. She says, “I wake early, find a quiet spot, and simply focus on my breath.”

“It helps me feel more grounded and defines the tone for the rest of my day.” Often emphasising thankfulness or self-compassion as the key themes, she uses guided meditations to keep on target.

Exercises for Breathing to De-stress

Lara goes to breathing exercises anytime she feels anxious or overwhelmed during her day. She points out, “Just a few minutes of deep breathing can make such a difference.”

“It’s amazing how peaceful it is to back off and simply breathe.” Lara uses the 4-7-8 breathing method, in which she inhales for 4 seconds, holds the breath for 7 seconds, then exhales for 8 seconds.

The Authority of Night Thought

Lara spends evenings journaling or meditating to help her to review her day. “It’s a terrific way to empty my head before bed,” she says. “I consider what went well, what I am thankful for, and what I might let go of.”

Meditating for Lara is a lifestyle rather than only a habit. It helps her stay in balance, lower anxiety, and find clarity among the confusion. “Mindfulness has helped me to savour the small pleasures and live in the moment,” she says.
