Designed by fitness guru Jake Thompson, this program emphasises mixing strength and cardio to tone your abs without requiring hours in the gym. Thompson advises “the key is to keep your core engaged throughout each movement.” “The medicine ball increases resistance, so increasing the effort your muscles must make.”

The Working Breakdown

  • Sitting on the floor, gently lean back, then twist your torso from side to side while clutching the medicine ball. Spend 30 seconds doing this

  • Standing up, forcefully smack the ball down in front of you and repeat for 45 seconds. This action works well for strengthening your core and upper body.
  • Starting in a plank posture with the ball under your hands, Roll the ball back and forth keeping a strong plank. Spend thirty seconds working on this.
  • Sit-up. Lay back, hold the ball above your head, do a sit-up, then pass the ball between your legs. Go back to your beginning point and repeat for forty-five seconds.
