Although Brazilian supermodel Isabeli Fontana is renowned for her perfect body, yoga is her secret to remain flexible and toned—not hours at the gym. Yoga has evolved over years into her preferred exercise since it helps her keep mental clarity, strength, and flexibility.
1. Downward Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)
“One of my all-time favourites is downward dog,” Isabeli says. Stretching the spine, shoulders, hamstrings, and calves, this basic posture is full-body. It also works great for developing upper body strength, which tones shoulders and arms.
“I love how it spreads out my whole body, especially after a long flight or photoshoot,” she says. When she has to decompress and reenergize herself, she usually strikes this position.
2. Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II)
One power stance that develops core strength, glutes, and legs is warrior II. For Isabeli, it’s absolutely central to her schedule. “This pose grounds and makes me feel strong,” she explains. The posture calls for steadiness and concentration that not only tones the body but also helps the mind relax.
“Yoga is as much about mental fortitude as it is physical,” Isabeli notes. “Warrior II reminds me to stay balanced and centred, whatever’s happening around me.”
3. Kapotasana Pigeon Pose
Isabeli’s preferred method for reducing tension and expanding tight hips is pigeon pose. “It’s the best for spreading out following a workout or a hectic day,” she says. This position increases flexibility and mobility by stretching the hip flexors and glutes—qualities necessary to keep a toned body.
“I’ve come to see that yoga is more than just appearances,” Isabeli notes. It’s about feeling well as well. It keeps me in close relationship to my body.
4. Phalakasana’s plank pose
A mainstay of Isabeli’s yoga programme for developing core strength is the plank pose “It’s basic but so powerful,” she says. Perfect for conditioning and strengthening muscles, this posture works the whole body from the shoulders to the knees.
Yoga is a whole practice that helps Isabeli Fontana keep her mind and body in balance rather than only a toning or flexibility exercise. She smiles and adds, “It’s a practice I’ll never give up. “It’s what maintains my strength both inside and out.”
