Heart health appeals to Isabella Stone. She says, “It’s all about little, consistent decisions”. Her basic items are as follows:
1. Morning: Toast Made with Avocado
Starting with whole-grain toast topped with smashed avocado and some flaxseeds, Isabella “Your heart will benefit most from the fiber and good fats,” she explains.
2. Snack: One handful of nuts.
Isabella likes walnuts and almonds most. She counsels, “Just a little handful is enough to keep your heart happy.”
3. Lunch would be Mediterranean chickpea salad.
Chickpeas, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, olive oil all find place in this salad. “For heart health, beans and olive oil are heroes,” she says.
4. Dinner calls grilled salmon and spinach.
Salmon completes her day with sautéed spinach on side. Isabella points out that leafy greens are high in nitrates that promote good blood flow.
“Take care of your heart; it will take care of you,” she says smiling.
