Suri Hart’s No-Sugar-Added Treats You Can Trust

Suri Hart is not embarrassed to admit her strong sweet tooth. She began to pay closer attention, though, after learning how much extra sugar lurked in her “healthy” snacks.

She claims to have been duped. “Even the bars and yoghurt labels ‘natural’ were loaded with sugar.”

She wanted not to give up dessert. She wanted simply to believe it.

Suri then went to her kitchen and started reworking her beloved sweets using whole, naturally sweet ingredients—ripe bananas, apples, dates, a bit of cinnamon or vanilla.

The objective was to produce something better than store-bought sweets, not to copy them in terms of taste. Her needs were met without the crash.

“It was about not striving perfection,” she says. “Occasional I still want a cookie. But when I bake at home, I know just what’s going in—and what’s not.

These no-sugar-added sweets became second nature to her over time, and even her friends began requesting them.

“Being able to savour food you created with care has great power,” Suri notes. Though it also feels honest, it’s sweet.

Her freezer now holds little morsels of happiness, all created without one grain of additional sugar. She says, “You don’t have to give up dessert.” She beams You only have to redefine it.
