Many times hailed as the best diet available worldwide is the Mediterranean one. Wellness coach Luna Wright notes why it’s also among the easiest to embrace.
“The simplicity and emphasis on fresh, whole foods of the Mediterranean diet are its beauties,” Luna says.
Her best advice for novices is here:
Starting with olive oil. “Substitute extra virgin olive oil with butter or any cooking oil. This easy change gives your meals heart-healthy fats.
Eat more flora. “Base your meals on vegetables, fruits, and legumes,” Luna counsels. “A great start is a Greek salad or lentils soup.”
Accept Whole Grain Foods. “Swap whole-grain bread, pasta, or quinoa for processed carbohydrates. They keep you satiated for longer and are more nutrient-dense.”
Fish Twice a Week: Include. “Salmon, mackerel, or sardines are really good options,” Luna says. “They abound in omega-3s, which are fantastic for your heart.”
Have meals with friends. “The Mediterranean lifestyle is about connection,” Luna notes. “Take time to enjoy your meals with loved ones—it makes food more joyful and satisfying.”
