“I didn’t want to live in a cycle of sugar highs and headaches,” she says. So she began exploring ways to snack without added sugar—no syrups, no cane juice, no sneaky ingredients with names that end in -ose.

At first, the change felt drastic. The granola bars and flavored yogurts she once considered healthy weren’t as clean as she thought. “I had to unlearn some things,” Yara says.
